ABOUT THE
CENTER FOR GREAT NEIGHBORHOODS
The Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington is a non-profit organization
serving Covington, Kentucky. For over 30 years, the Center for Great Neighborhoods has been a catalyst for positive change in Covington by bringing people together to resolve some of our
city's toughest issues.
The Center for Great Neighborhoods strengthens urban neighborhoods by capitalizing on our
community's greatest resources its residents. The truth is struggling neighborhoods
won't improve because of a federal grant or outside resource alone. Lasting change only occurs when people take ownership of their community and their own lives. We
equip residents with the tools and resources they need to create safe and livable neighborhoods.
The Center builds thriving families, youth and neighborhoods through innovative programs in the areas of: community organizing, housing development, youth development, financial literacy and community arts.
Your support of the Center for Great Neighborhoods will:
Provide support and training to 17 neighborhood associations, empowering residents with the skills and resources they need to take action and improve their neighborhoods
Promote urban neighborhood revitalization through projects that improve
residents quality of life and attract new residents, such as housing development, parks and green space, and public art
Help families and individuals build their personal assets, own their own home and enhance self-sufficiency through training and education
Equip at-risk youth with the skills necessary to become
successful, productive citizens through leadership and service learning
programs. Whether it is helping residents combat crime, increase homeownership
or provide after-school activities for youth, the Center helps people improve
their lives as they improve their neighborhoods.
